giclee print percy waters 1920s blueprint tattoo flash sheet M, 18x24

sheet M

percy waters sold blue print flash sheets, printed on thick paper, starting in the early 1920s through his mail order tattoo supply business. he sold these not to hang up and display, as is, but to serve as a way for a tattooist to make line drawings (by tracing over the white lines on the blue print sheet with pen, onto board or paper), the traced line impressions on the board or paper could be lined over with ink and then be painted and displayed by the artist, as his/her own artwork to sell his/her ability to tattoo.
percy waters, due to his huge client base, by sending these blue print sheets out all over the USA, truly influenced tattoo history for years to come with these designs and others.

this original blue print sheet, along with others, was owned by outlaw Texas tattooist, Dutch Van Dee.

each reproduction "giclèe" fine art archival blue print was printed professionally and color matched to the deep blue original after the original sheet was scanned professionally on a flat bed scanner. both the original and copy are 18x24 inches.
the print was professionally produced/printed on thick 100 weight, archival, matte paper using only fade-resistant, archival, pigment-based inks. each print is carefully matched to the original sign/flash, thereby creating the closest print match to the original sheet as could be possibly made.

all photos are actual photos taken of the print itself so the clarity of the print can be seen. this one looks insanely good.
